watch out june cleaver....

so i read my cousin bethany's blog the other day about how she made strawberry freezer jam and had a ton of it... and i thought to myself... dang i wish she lived closer so i could have some of her yummy freezer jam.

and then i was browsing the grocery ads cause we were in dire need of food..when i saw a sale for da da da da.... you guessed it. strawberries. mark convinced me i could make jam so i got a huge flat of strawberries today at maceys... mashed em up... poured SOOOOOOOO much sugar and pectin into them.... and WALA... jam. well i hope so at least. they're supposed to sit for 24 hrs and then you freeze them or refrigerate them. right now its just runny strawberry sugar goo.

and thats my story of how i became domestic.(my house is a mess...and there's strawberry goo everywhere...but thats besides the point!)

Um yum...I want some. Bring it. My mouth is watering. I only like freezer jam. Regular jam is totally not worth the cals, so bring on the freezer jam!

Congrats on making that! A messy house is a sign of a good meal...or so I hear. That's not always the case with my house :) Love ya!

I'm so proud of you that I think I'm tearing up a little... You'll have to teach me to be domestic one day...

well done! Sometimes it's fun to play domestic housewife...I've been trying to fake it or figure it out for years. But I'm glad I so inspired you...it helps inspire myself to be better. But I have to tell you...standing all morning in the kitchen over sticky strawberries 7 months pregnant totally wiped me out. I was a veg the whole next day!

I think you can get those high chairs at IKEA :P So how did the jam set up after the 24 hours?

Wow, Heather....your hair looks longer as a domestic....

I'm impressed with the jam. I have yet to preserve food using jars...

so I kept thinking about your jam.... so much that when I went to Macey's I found the on sale strawberries and went right ahead and copied you!! Way to be brave! It convinced me to be brave too! And now we both have freezers full of yummy jam!
